Through Our Eyes, In Our Voices: the stories of the impact and power of the arts from around America. Stories of how the arts have had an impact on individuals, communities and how they can effect social change.                                                                                                                                                    The Arts have transformed lives and communities, are utilized in healing from PTSD and in healthcare. We want to share all these stories, we want to share their art and video stories. Please send me your stories, art and videos.

We are also creating a special project called:                                                                                                                  The Veterans Arts Empowerment Project                                                                                          creativity, communication, healing
This project will share the stories and art of veterans who have fought to protect the very democratic freedoms and values that the arts are all about-freedom of expression, equality, our humanity and peace.

First I want to say my heart and prayers go out to everyone effected by this most recent school shooting and to everyone effected by violence in today's society. But in light of the most recent school shooting,we are asking-how can we prevent violence such as this one. It started me thinking about all the projects and programs we developed when I ran my non profit Center For The Arts for fifteen years. Starting in 1999 we were talking about and creating Arts in Prevention Programs. We went into schools and communities with arts programs to raise awareness, to educate and most importantly to allow youth to express themselves in non-threatening ways.
