THE ARTS MAKE AMERICA GREAT, the campaign

Art is a universal language, allowing everyone to communicate creatively;to express themselves. We live in a country where freedom of expression is a guaranteed right. There is no right or wrong in the arts. The arts are the soul of our nation.
Artists historically have used the arts to make statements, express themselves, their opinions and protest.                                                                                                                              "I see little of more importance to the future of our country and of civilization than full recognition of the place of the artist. If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him." John F. Kennedy [this takes public funding!]

THE ARTS MAKE AMERICA GREAT is about everyone's voice through the arts, it is about everyone expressing their truth, their opinions, ideas,it is about possibilities, challenges and opportunities. It is about youth finding their voice, it is about art in education, art in prevention,it is about working with at risk youth and communities, art in the community, art in economic community revitalization, art in workforce development and in the workplace,it is about arts in wellness and healthcare. It is about veterans who are artists and veterans who are using the arts to heal,it is about rehabilitation through the arts through organizations such as Rehabilitation Through The Arts, who use the arts to change lives behind prison walls,in families and in communities using the transformative power of the arts.

It is about connecting through the arts and uniting for peace. It is about building bridges through the arts.
It is about art in social justice and equality, it is about stimulating creativity for our future.
It is about the arts across America in everyday places, off the white walls of galleries and museums.
All of the ARTS across America make our country great.

We will be sharing stories, art and videos from individuals and communities who have had the arts impact their lives and their communities. We will be showcasing arts organizations across this country making a direct impact on their communities and the individuals they serve.
It is about creating projects giving everyone a voice, connecting and sharing through the arts.
It has never been more important than ever to create true human value for the arts: how do we create value? If you can not imagine not having something in your life then it has value.
I have asked that question in the past :
"Art is crucial to the public good and for the health and well-being of our citizens and our communities! Art promotes critical thinking, creative solutions to problems, acceptance of diversity and positive change. The impact that art has on our lives is both immediate and long-term. Without the arts our world would be smaller, duller, and much less fulfilling. Art can make people feel connected, uplifted, empowered and energized and wonderful ways that improve our lives. Art is truly everywhere and once we start noticing it we often want to partake and participate and be part of it! Providing people the opportunity to be part of art projects, to see, hear, touch or create in them, is well worth committing our time and resources to!" Carol Prost Research Associate Brandeis University
" I can't imagine a world without the arts, but if I were to, I think it would be a pretty uninspiring place that would limit humans' ability to understand one another. I think art is critical to helping people understand each other, themselves, and the world around them." Robin Burger

The stories will begin next week.

I hope you join us in this campaign:THE ARTS MAKE AMERICA GREAT, and help us share the stories of the power and impact of the arts and raise money for the arts.
